“The Copper Corridor” Southeastern Arizona Mining Towns

(Images Updated 1/2014) In late Fall of 2012 through early Spring 2013 I began to look at small towns in Southeastern Arizona. These communities are mostly abandoned small towns which were supported by copper mining. When prices fell for the metal, most small prospectors could not recover from the economic downturn and the towns they supported loss their business base. Even large and established corporate mines lost the ability to support relatively small towns like Superior, Miami and Winkelman Arizona. I have also included some work completed in Cave Creek, Arizona and along the Apache Trial.

Color Work  I 2013

From July 10th through July 27th, I looked at new areas through eastern Colorado, western Nebraska and western South Dakota & North Dakota. While in Montana I reexamined some places I have already worked and spent time in the western cities of Missoula, and Helena Montana. I also begin my first work in Seattle and will return in the Fall to look at Portland, Oregon and further work in the Seattle area.
