1979: Meaning With Tone
In 1979 I made additional forays into the subject I wanted to see more of. I changed the format of my camera from a 35mm Single-Lens-Reflex to a hand held 4×5″ Speed Graflex. The 4×5″ Speed Graflex press camera has a split image viewfinder which allowed easy focusing, and then using 4×5″ film holders to insert into the camera to make the shot. Large format 4×5″ film allows for greater enlargements and a much greater amount of tone in a finished photograph than 35mm film.
